It’s always a proud moment when regional films get recognized internationally. It says a lot about the changing narratives in the films that get accustomed to new-age thinking. Fahadh Faasil and Dileesh Pothan’s Joji won the Best International Film Award at the Swedish International Film Festival (SIFF) 2021. That’s a huge honour, and we’re nothing short of proud.
Fahadh Faasil took to Facebook to announce this achievement. He enthusiastically shared, “Good News from Sweden! JOJI won The Best International Feature Film Award @ the Swedish International Film Festival (SIFF) 2021.”
Joji is the third collaboration between Fahadh, Dileesh and Syam Pushkaran. This deadly combo created one of the best movies of 2021, which was showcased worldwide on Amazon Prime Video. Dileesh Pothan’s Joji is an adaptation of Shakespeare’s Macbeth that made use of limited space and minimal cast to create a stunning piece of entertainment. Apart from Fahadh Faasil, Joji saw the likes of Baburaj, Shammi Thilakan, Unnimaya Prasad and Basil Joseph, among others.
