The Much-awaited Minnal Murali Trailer Is Here!

Scheduled for direct to OTT release on Netflix on 24th December 2021, Minnal Murali has gotten us all excited. Netflix India just dropped the trailer of Minnal Murali and it is as kickass as expected.

With Tonivo Thomas in the titular role of a person who gains superpowers after being struck by lightning, the movie will have Femina George as the female lead. Minnal Murali will also have Guru Somasundaram, Harisree Ashokan and Aju Varghese in pivotal roles.

Murali is clueless about iconic superheroes like Batman, Spiderman and Superman. So when he gets lightning-induced powers, he seeks the help of a kid (his probable sidekick) to guide him through his new avatar. Of course, we aren’t sure if the kid knows of his powers, but it definitely adds to the quirk of the movie. More than that, we’re interested in his cock-inspired superhero outfit, which thankfully, progresses to a real one. Phew! The trailer looks interesting and it’s bound to crack up Malayalis all over the world. After all, it’s Kerala’s first superhero flick and we’re hella proud of it.

Minnal Murali

Directed by Basil Joseph and produced by Sophia Paul of Weekend Blockbusters, Minnal Murali is being touted as the first Malayalam superhero flick. Dubbed versions of the movie in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Hindi and English will be released on the same day.

Director, Minnal Murali, Basil Joseph shared“I have always been a huge fan of superhero fiction, right from the comic books to the early noir superhero movies. I  wanted to find the best superhero origin stories that would appeal to a wide set of audience and with Minnal Murali, that dream has come to life. Thanks to Weekend Blockbusters for the opportunity, Tovino for his dedication and having Netflix as a partner to complete our vision.”

Sharing his excitement about Minnal Murali, Tovino Thomas said, “Minnal Murali is the kind of story that will engross and captivate everyone until the very end. I play the enigmatic character, Jaison a.k.a Minnal Murali, who is hit by a bolt of lightning and gets supernatural powers. Taking on the role of Minnal Murali has been a challenging experience for me. Basil Joseph’s vision is truly unparalleled and I can’t wait for audiences around the world to watch it”
