Rima’s first NFT artwork is a collaboration with music composer Lami, motion graphic artist and photoshoot expert Francis Kurien, poet Mahesh Krishnan, and the NFT Malayali community. Each had their own creative contribution to building the artwork fondly called ‘The Insurgent Boom’. The story behind the art has its inspiration from the blooming of Neelakurinji found in Munnar.
The auction of her artwork ended within 24 hours. An NFT user, @barthazian, had the highest bid and bought the artwork for 2.75 ether, which is valued at ₹ 7.73 lakh. She has vowed that 50% of what the artists make will be utilised to support movies made by women. She also plans on investing by buying digital artwork to support budding artists in the space.
The actor understands that NFT can get complicated at the first go. But, the NFT Malayali community guided Rima Kallingal through the jargon and helped her overcome the complications.
