French Toast: A Chilled Out Cafe In All Its Aesthetics

The port city of Cochin is popular for its never-ending list of food joints. Be it visually pleasing cafes or homely thattukkadas, Kochi has it all covered. The city is home to some of the most iconic Cafes in Kerala, French Toast is one of them. 

Kochi’s very own French toast has been serving deliciousness for nine long years now. Ayas Salim started the cafe at Kaloor in Kochi followed by outlets in Panampilly Nagar and Kacherippady. The cafe is a hot pick among both celebrities and locals, being a go-to dessert and savoury destination among many.

“Most items on our menu are sold out by the time we close our shop,” says Bindu, an enthusiastic staff at their Panampilly Branch who has been associated with the cafe right from its genesis. The cosy and artistic interior of the cafe is the icing on the cake. The ambience is fantastic and good company is all you need.

French Toast is famous for its strawberry based dishes as they are some of their first signature dishes. The strawberry French toast, Burnt Basque cheesecakes and Pizzas are top picks among many visitors. The menu is splendid with a variety of dishes open to anyone who wishes to try new tastes. 

The cafe offers a spectacular Sunday delivery service to various cities across Kerala including Thrissur. The orders have to be placed a few days prior to the expected date of delivery in such cases.

Unfortunately, the first outlet in Kaloor had to be shut down due to the effects of the pandemic and lockdown. On the positive side, both the French Toast outlets in Panampilly Nagar and Kacherippady are flourishing well. This little cafe has been a famous name in the food industry for nine years now and is definitely a must-visit on your next cafe outing.
