The teaser of Unda was released today, and there are still quite a few things that remain unanswered. Why the name ‘Unda’, for example, remains a mystery.
The story revolves around a nine men police unit who travel from Kerala to a Maoist affected area in Chhattisgarh for the Parliamentary election duty. The teaser hints at bits of humour caused by the police unit handling guns and learning to shoot. But it also hints at the difficulties that they have to go through, probably like the officers in the Hindi movie Newton. However, unlike Newton, Unda is from the officers’ perspective. After hits like ‘Sapthamashree Thaskaraha’ (2014) and ‘Anuraga Karikkin Vellam’ (2016), expectations are high on Khalid Rahman. And the teaser promises a fun-filled action movie.
The teaser has a great background score that proves to be quite a earworm. It hints at the musical treat that Prashant Pillai has instore for us. All in all, the teaser leaves you asking for more. Due for an Eid 2019 release, this Mammootty starter looks like a sure-shot blockbuster.
