The tourism department of Kerala set up a floating bridge at Beypore beach in Kozhikode. You can now experience the force of the waves while standing on the floating bridge. This bridge was set up with the help of the District Tourists Promotion Council (DTPC) and the Ports Department.
The floating bridge at Beypore beach is 100 meters in length and 3 metres in width. Since it is made out of polyethylene (HDPE) blocks, it floats easily on the water. In fact, you’ll almost feel like you are walking on the waves. Even though 500 people can stand on it at the same time, only 50 people are allowed for now. Everyone is supposed to wear a life jacket before they step onto the bridge. What’s interesting is that there are there is a 15-metre wide platform at the end of the bridge. Here, you can get a panoramic view of the sea.
The bridge is open to the public from 11 AM to 6 PM.
