The much-awaited Padma Awards 2021 winners list is out. The President of India, Ram Nath Kovind, will be handing over the highest civilian awards to the awardees at Rashtrapati Bhavan. The awards come in three categories: Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan and Padma Shri.
This year, 119 people from different fields have been chosen to receive the award. Seven Padma Vibhushan, ten Padma Bhushan and 102 Padma Shri Awards to be precise. Out of the 119 awardees, 29 of them are women, 16 are Posthumous awardees and one is a transgender awardee.
There are six Malayalis who are part of the Padma Awards 2021 winners list. The Indian playback singer K. S. Chithra has been awarded the Padma Bhushan for excelling in the field of art. Similarly, Shri Damodaran Kaithapram and Shri K K Ramachandra Pulavar received the Padma Shri in the art category. Shri Balan Putheri, Dr Dhananjay Diwakar Sagdeo, and Shri Madhavan Nambiar won the Padma Shri for Literature & Education, Medicine, and Sports respectively.
Celebrities such as Karan Johar, Kangana Ranaut, and Ekta Kapoor are also part of the awardee list, this year. Check out the other winners below:
