The much-awaited teaser of Kurup, starring Dulquer Salmaan, has finally dropped. Directed by Srinath Rajendran, the movie is slated to release soon. The film also stars Shobhitha Dhulipala, Indrajith Sukumaran, Sunny Wayne, Shine Tom Chacko, Vijayaraghavan, P Balachandran, Surabhi Lakshmi and Shivajith Padmanabhan. Within a span of six months, the shooting was done across six states in the country.
Kurup follows the story of Sukumara Kurup, the criminal from Kerala who has evaded the justice system for over three decades. This infamous criminal had murdered a person who looked exactly like him, Chacko (a film representative) so that his family could claim insurance worth ₹ 8 lakh. As per sources, he committed the crime out of greed and was inspired by a similar incident that took place in Germany.
While the trailer hints at a Netflix release, we’re hoping that they would release the movie in theatres first, and eventually release it on the OTT platform. Watch the teaser of Kurup below.
