Like every other state in India, Kerala too is rich in history. Manu. S. Pillai’s book, The Ivory Throne, will attest to that. Kerala’s port connections across the Arabian Sea and the Mediterranean and the Red Sea ports made it a hot spot for international trade and the infusion of many cultures. It’s very rare that you come across documentation of the historical stories of Kerala and the people of the past, let alone old photos of Kerala.

Thankfully, there are ancient pictures of Kerala that showcase the past lives of the state’s people, which clearly shows the difference in culture and practices of the past.
