These days it’s not hard to find Malabar cuisine. But if authentic is the word you’re searching for, Green Pepper is the way to go. Known  as one the best joints for Malabar cuisine in Bangalore, the food in Green Pepper has nothing to do with the restaurant’s name. However, if beef fry, porotta, fish curry, appam and stew is what you’re hungry for, this place has it all – and it’s pretty damn good here.

Kerala is known for its picturesque and pristine backwaters. Translate the word ‘backwater’ to Malayalam, and you get Kaayal. The restaurant has managed to capture the true essence of Kerala through their lip-smacking dishes – our favourite, the Trivandrum Style Kozhi Porichathu, Spicy Allepy Fish Curry, and Kaayal Chicken Biryani. If you have time to kill and tummy to fill, don’t forget to check Kaayal out.

So what Kairali Restaurant does is that it brings you the tantalising flavours of Kerala and combines it with ‘sneham’ (love) to make you feel like you’ve devoured the best food ever. This restaurant is the best thing that happened to Bangalore – and for good reason.

There’s no need to question the authenticity of this restaurant. Now you know where to pig out on a plate or two of Mutton Varatharachathu, Fish Onion Roast, and Mutton Coconut Fry – all loaded with Malluness. If you can’t shake you Kerala roots, don’t worry – there’s Malabar Chicken Curry to bank on.

If ‘tattu kada’ feel is what you’re looking for in a Kerala restaurant, Jose’s Mess is the place to be in. Stop by for their Kerala Sadhya, Kappa Biriyani, Beef Roast, and Ghee Roast.
