Kerala State Film Awards 2019: All The Winners

The winners of Kerala State Film Awards 2019-2020 was announced today. The jury, chaired by cinematographer-filmmaker Madhu Ambat, picked the winner from 119 movies. The screening of the movies started in mid-September and due to the pandemic, the jury was divided into small groups to watch in special screenings.

The Best Film award was given to Vasanthi. Lijo Jose Pellissery was awarded Best Director for Jallikattu, which had received quite a lot of critical acclaim.

Suraj Venjaramoodu received the Best Actor award for his performances in Android Kunjappan Version 5.25 and Vikrithi, while Kani Kusruti received Best Actor (Female) award for her performance in Biriyani.

Fahad Faasil and Swasika were awarded Best Character Actor awards for their performances in Kumbalangi Nights and Vasanthi, respectively.

  11. Best Debut Director: Ratheesh Balakrishnan Poduval (Android Kunjappan Version 5.25)
  12. Best Music Director: Sushin Shyam (Kumbalangi Nights)
  13. Best Director For BGM: Ajmal Hassbulla (Vrithakrithiyulla Chathuram)
  14. Best Male Singer: Najim Arshad
  15. Best Female Singer: Madhushree Narayanan
  16. Best Editor: Kiran Das (Ishq)
  17. Best Story: Shahul Aliyar (Vasanthi)
  18. Best Cinematography: Prathap V Nair (Kenchira)
  19. Best Dubbing Artist (Male): Vineeth (Lucifer)
  20. Best Dubbing Artist (Female): Shruthi Ramachandran (Kamala)
  21. Best Sound Mixing: Kanan Ganapathy (Jallikattu)
  22. Best Sound Design: Shrisankar Gopinath, Vishnu Govind (Unda, Ishq)
  23. Best Sync Sound: Harikumar Madhavan Nair (Nani)
  24. Best Child Artist (Male): Vasudev Sujeesh Marar (Sullu, Kalanottam)
  25. Best Child Artist (Female): Catherine Biji (Nani)
  26. Best Children’s Movie: Nani
  27. Best Make up: Ranjith Ambady (Helen)
  28. Best Costume Designer: Ashokan Alapuzha (Kenchira)
  29. Special Jury Award: Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham
  30. Special Jury Mention (Acting): Anna Ben for Helen, Nivin Pauly for Moothon, and Priyamvadha Krishna for Thottapan
  31. Special Jury Mention (Music): V Dakshinamoorthy
