We Malayalis keep talking about how the Malayalam spoken by people of Kasaragod sounds different from what’s spoken in other regions of Kerala. It even inspired us to make this meme!

Kasargod, being the northern-most district of Kerala, shares its borders with Karnataka and therefore, the Malayalam spoken here has been influenced by cultural intermingling with the peoples of Karnataka. And that’s what makes the Kasaragod ‘slang’ so special.
