Aishwarya Lekshmi stepped foot into the Malayalam movie industry with Njandukalude Nattil Oridavela starring alongside Nivin Pauly. Not only is she one of the most sought after actors in Mollywood, but is also the most loved actor in tinsel town. Her vibrant personality coupled with her effortless, impeccable acting skills, has garnered quite an audience for her performances over the years. The young starlet is, perhaps, an inspiration to many aspirants looking to follow their passion. Having completed her MBBS degree from Sree Narayana Institute of Medical Sciences (SNIMS), Ernakulam, Aishwarya chose an alternate career because she wanted to ‘give it a try’. Little did she know that it would turn out to be one of the best decisions she’s ever made.
We can’t help but look back at the contemporary performances that made her the celebrated actor she is right now.
Njandukalude Nattil Oridavela
The first thing you will notice about the movie is the ‘family’ vibe that it gives off. Sheela, a mother and a college professor, is diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer. As the matriarch of the family, viewers are made to see the dynamics change within the family. Her son Kurian is asked to return from London to help her with the needful. Njandukalude Nattil Oridavela deals with a highly sensitive subject but manages to bring smiles through the emotional depth.
Aishwarya Lekshmi, who appears as Rachel, Kurian’s girlfriend, is funny and disarmingly sweet in the movie. The few cute moments captured in the movie was perfectly depicted by Aishwarya, making her a then promising actor to look forward to.
Having spent his years working for a gang, Maathen makes a run for it after he accidentally kills a police officer. But, he does something before he decides to leave the country – meet the love of his life, Appu. Appu and Maathen’s complicated love story makes it real, showcasing the true aspect of love, passion, and trust. Mayaanadhi unapologetically stands true to its title. As a viewer, you’re made to feel all kinds of emotions, including siding with Maathen and empathizing with Appu. The movie is as satisfying as their love story.
Aishwarya Lekshmi’s first movie as the main protagonist happens to be one of the best movies she has acted in. Her potential to instantaneously grab the attention of the audience proved to be her best strengths as an actor. She was able to easily portray moments of joy and humour in the darkest of times. That, my friends, is a sign of a true actor.
Never underestimate the power of anybody. Varathan is a movie about a Dubai couple who heads back to their hometown in Kerala only to encounter challenges that change their lives. If you haven’t had the chance to watch the movie, we suggest that you do for the killer suspense that you encounter over the course.
For the first time, we see Aishwarya and Fahad teaming up for a movie that’s received a lot of praise from the public. What starts out in simple terms, turns out to be the least expected scenario and that’s the beauty of the movie. Aishwarya’s role in Varathan is of a very typical concerned wife yet she manages to pull it off with ease. As the movie develops, her scintillating performance keeps you on your toes, while Fahad pulls off his part extremely well.
Vijay Superum Pournamiyum
An engineer meets with a budding entrepreneur only to fall in love and pursue their passion, together. The storyline is more modern because it captures present-day ambition and love of millennials trying to be different. The movie embraces the struggles people go through when they choose an alternative career with bigger risks. It also manages to show love where ego plays a complicated role.
Aishwarya and Asif Ali give us a feel-good, rom-com after a very long time. In fact, by the end of the movie, you will be left with a happy feeling with lots of emotions to chew on. If you want to see Aishwarya in a very happy to-go character delivering beautiful dialogues, this should definitely be the movie you should watch.
Argentina Fans Kaattoorkadavu
Kerala’s love for football is known worldwide. So a movie about the football scene in Kerala was much-needed. Argentina Fans Kaattoorkadavu is all about a bunch of Argentina fans going through a series of challenges with their rival groups.
Amidst the rivalry, a tale of love materialises between football fanatics. Aishwarya, who plays Mehrunisa, is a Brazil fan. Her childhood friend, Vipinan, is an Argentina fan. Their complicated football infused love story makes us want to know more about who wins in the end – football or love? Aishwarya has subtle bursts of bad behaviour while painstakingly making her way towards higher ground. She’s funny, rebellious, and enthusiastic.
Her upcoming movie Brother’s Day, starring Prithviraj, just released a few days back. This will be Aishwarya’s sixth movie, and we’re hoping that it breaks box-office records. If early reviews are to go by, it’s the perfect family drama that’s going to set the screen ablaze.
